Is my college student still eligible as a dependent on my Membership during summer break?

Yes, as long as they were a full time student taking (12) or more credit hours in April or May of that year.

Per our Sharing Guidelines, "Full-time student status begins thirty (30) days before the first day of classes in which a dependent is already enrolled. Full-time student status is presumed through the last day of August if the person was a full-time student in April or May of that same calendar year."

If your college student is enrolled full-time in the fall semester, then their eligibility will be continuous through the end of December.

PLEASE NOTE:

Verification of full-time student status is required each semester in order for dependent eligibility to be maintained. To verify your dependent's full-time student status, please send in one of the following:

  • A copy of their official or unofficial transcripts
  • A class schedule that shows the student's full name, the name of the university or academic institution, and how many credit hours they're taking that semester
  • A tuition receipt showing the full name of the student, the semester paid for, and how many credit hours are being paid for.
