As part of a health care sharing ministry, do I need IRS form 1095B health care coverage for my taxes?

While not considered insurance, sharing ministries have a special exemption under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) from maintaining minimum essential coverage. Therefore, no, the IRS does not require Solidarity HealthShare to provide an IRS form 1095B, and you are not required to file one with your taxes.

Some states have their own individual mandates requiring you to have a health insurance policy, but we qualify for an exemption for all of them. Please consult with your tax advisor for additional information if your state has an individual mandate on the state level.

Note: Title 26 Internal Revenue Code dated 06/10/2020 - 5000A(d)(2)(B)(ii), which provides that the individual shared responsibility payment (which is zero after December 31, 2018) does not apply to an individual who is a member of a health care sharing ministry.
