What is Solidarity HealthShare, and how does it work?

Solidarity HealthShare is a Healthcare Sharing Ministry that provides an alternative way to fund healthcare costs while protecting and practicing our Catholic beliefs. It is ethical, affordable, and exempt from the fines (taxes) of the Affordable Care Act.

When you need medical care, you visit the doctor or hospital of your choice. We provide you with a Solidarity HealthShare Membership ID Card, that you will present to the healthcare provider, that includes instructions on how to bill Solidarity directly for the care you received. Solidarity uses the information provided on the medical bill to determine if the care you received is Eligible for Sharing based on the Sharing Guidelines. Solidarity then negotiates the bill on your behalf in partnership with Advanced Medical Pricing Solutions (AMPS), resulting in the lowest possible cost of care. The bill will then be matched with Member's sharing dollars that they contributed as a part of their Monthly Contribution Amount. Solidarity will then facilitate the matching of sharing funds that have been contributed by Members as a part of their Monthly Contribution to the medical bill. The bill will either be shared directly to the provider on behalf of the Member if no proof of payment has been received, or it will be shared directly to the Member as a reimbursement if a proof of payment has been received.

If we have received your proof of payment with a medical bill, we will not continue to negotiate the cost of the bill, but rather, we will honor the amount that you paid to your provider.
